  • Indian Tourist Visa- Extension / Change

As part of our 'Online Services' we provide support and assistance in getting the extension or conversion of tourist visa.

Generally Indian Tourist Visa can NOT be extended and Changed. These restrictions are also clearly mentioned on the Indian Tourist Visa itself. However, there are few exceptions under which the Indian Tourist Visa can be Extended and even Changed to another visa type.

The extension of Indian Tourist Visa is regulated and granted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and its nodal offices. The Main office of Ministry of Home Affairs is in New Delhi along with many other state nodal offices.

Process to Extend or Change of Indian Tourist Visa :

Changing or Extension of Indian Tourist Visa is a long and complicated process. No tourist has the right to remain in India even in the validity of Indian Tourist Visa. So, getting permission to stay in India beyond the initial visa time is not an easy task.

The Application to Extend or Change the Indian Tourist Visa should be made well in advance. It will take about three months to have the permission after all the verification. In urgent cases the application can be made at the Nodal office situated locally at the place of residence of Applicant.

Documents we need

Copy of Passport with at least six months of validity,

Information about having citizenship of Pakistan and Bangladesh,
