  • PIO Card for India

 

As part of our 'Online Services' we provide service for ‘Consultancy Service for Indian Immigration laws’.

 

Any person who at any time held an Indian Passport; or he or either of his parents or grand parents was born in or was permanently resident in India provided neither was at any time a citizen of Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka; or who is a spouse of a citizen of India or a person of Indian origin as mentioned above is eligible to apply for a PIO card.

 

A PIO card holder can visit India without visa for 15 years from the date of issue of PIO card.

 

Indian Missions / Posts abroad can grant an PIO (Person of Indian Origina) Card for a period of fifteen years at a time, with multiple entry facility.

 

Limitations:

The PIO (Person of Indian Origina) Card holder shall do all activities except mountaineering, missionary and research work and existing PAP/RAP which require specific permit.

The person visiting India on PIO (Person of Indian Origin) Card can stay in India for more then 180 days. However, he/she is required to register him/her self with FRRO/FRO if the length of stay is more more then 180 days.

Documents we need

  1. Copy of Passport with at least six of validity
  2. Proof of Indian Origin
  3. Information about having citizenship of Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka
  4. Signed Authority Letter*.
